TL;DR

Business Development/Technical Sales Manager (Naval Defence): Drive growth in operational services and support for maritime defence customers with an accent on identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and building relationships. Focus on developing regional strategies, managing bids, and ensuring technical solutions meet user requirements.

Location: Hybrid from hirify.global offices in Loudwater, Greenford, or Weymouth (UK); ~10% travel required; must have permission to work in the UK and eligibility for SC Clearance.

What you will do

  • Drive customer service as primary contact, review sales processes, and generate new opportunities.
  • Understand customer needs, prepare solutions for tenders, and deliver sales presentations, contracts, and proposals.
  • Update key customers on product developments and collaborate with project managers, engineering, and supply chain for effective delivery.
  • Develop communication links with management and R&D based on customer feedback.
  • Manage worldwide customers, build relationships, and develop regional business strategies with revenue targets.
  • Generate and review user requirements, support bid/no-bid reviews, and manage PQQ/ITT responses.

Requirements

  • Sales and/or engineering experience in Naval Defence Industry or Armed Forces service.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in related field with Defence Industry experience.
  • Proven track record developing and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Valid UK driving licence, permission to work in the UK, and eligibility for SC Clearance.
  • Strong communication, IT/CRM skills, self-motivated with ability to work independently or in a team.

Nice to have

  • Experience with EHS and Ethics standards.
