What you will do

• Design, deploy, and optimize SQL Server environments hosted on Azure, managing a large fleet of production instances.
• Diagnose and resolve complex database and application performance issues within Windows, IIS, and SQL Server ecosystems.
• Handle database upgrades, patching, backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations.
• Drive automation initiatives to improve infrastructure scalability and eliminate manual operational processes.
• Utilize AI-driven analytics tools to proactively detect issues and optimize database performance.
• Serve as a technical escalation point and mentor for support team members.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US (implied by US healthcare focus and benefits).
• 5+ years of experience in SQL Server (2019+) administration, database design, and T-SQL development.
• 5+ years of experience with Windows Server (2019+) administration.
• 5+ years of experience supporting SQL Server 2019 clusters on Azure VMs.
• Experience supporting production systems in n-tier architecture and Azure-hosted environments.
• Proficiency with APM tools such as Azure Monitor, Datadog, or New Relic.

Nice to have

• Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, ARM, Terraform).
• Experience working with APIs and application integrations.
• Background in healthcare or HIPAA-regulated environments.
• Prior experience in customer-facing technical roles.
