Project Engineer (Infrastructure)

TL;DR

Project Engineer (Infrastructure): End-to-end execution of client infrastructure projects from technical planning through on-site deployment and stabilization with an accent on network deployments, server migrations, and security integrations. Salary: $130,000 - $150,000

What you will do

• Execute end-to-end infrastructure projects including design validation, staging, and on-site cutovers.
• Translate SoWs into detailed technical build plans with sequencing, risk controls, and rollback strategies.
• Lead on-site implementations including rack/stack, cabling, and firewall/switch/wireless turn-up.
• Manage change execution governance, maintenance windows, and stakeholder communications.
• Create high-quality technical deliverables such as runbooks, network diagrams, and IP plans.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and third-party vendors to ensure delivery velocity and client satisfaction.

Requirements

• Must be local to the Boston-Metro Area.
• 5+ years of experience delivering IT infrastructure projects in MSP or consulting environments.
• Expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, and Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Hands-on experience with Firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco, SonicWall) and Networking (Meraki, UniFi).
• Proficiency in Cloud services (M365, Azure) and Backup/DR solutions (Datto, Veeam).
• Ability to travel at least once a month and work nights/weekends for migrations.
