TL;DR

VP, Acquisition Sales & Growth Strategy (Financial Services): Architect and execute expansion of alternative data platform into new institutional capital segments including macro funds, credit funds, long-only managers, and PE/VC firms with an accent on market penetration, partnership channels, and sales operating rigor. Focus on developing segment-specific playbooks, scaling BDM/SDR teams, implementing sales methodologies, and driving cross-functional alignment for global growth.

Location: Remote (must reside in CA, CO, CT, FL, ID, IL, LA, MA, MD, NC, NJ, NY, PA, RI, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, or Washington, DC) (~25% travel)

Salary: $200,000 - $250,000 base (50/50 base-to-variable structure), company equity

What you will do

  • Penetrate core and new logo firms globally across FS spectrum, owning pipeline and bookings in underpenetrated segments like mid-market funds, credit/macro strategies, long-only, and PE/VC.
  • Develop segment-specific playbooks accounting for buying signals, decision-makers, and product fit differences.
  • Build and execute partnership/channel motions to reach segments beyond direct sales.
  • Lead and scale team of BDMs/SDRs with coverage models, coaching on discovery, deal strategy, and performance.
  • Implement sales methodology, pipeline management, forecasting, and review cadences by segment.
  • Partner with CRO/CMO/CPO on pricing/packaging, market feedback, demand levers, and GTM for new products.

Requirements

  • Must reside in specified US states or DC.
  • Deep experience selling to institutional investors across fund types (hedge, credit, long-only, PE/VC).
  • Proven track record building/scaling new business motions in alternative/financial data or analytics.
  • Leadership managing quota-carrying BDMs/SDRs including hiring/coaching/performance.
  • Pipeline/demand gen support, GTM architecture (segmentation, MEDDICC, forecasting).
  • Familiarity with tiered pricing, partnerships/channels in financial data/B2B SaaS, cross-functional leadership, international expansion.

  • Sold to quant/fundamental buyers with tailored conversations.
  • Point of view on data relevance to credit/long-only/PE, multi-tier pricing transitions.
  • Existing relationships in mid-market/long-tail FS ecosystem.
