Network Operations Engineer III (Fintech)

TL;DR

Network Operations Engineer III (Fintech): Supporting and maintaining CME’s global network infrastructure with an accent on monitoring, troubleshooting, and change implementation. Focus on resolving complex technical faults in multi-vendor environments and ensuring the stability of derivatives marketplace platforms.

Location: Hybrid in Belfast, UK (2 days/week required in the office)

What you will do

• Act as a first responder to organize and control incident response.
• Monitor and manage platforms to ensure internal SLAs, operational KPIs, and quality standards are met.
• Handle complex technical support issues within a multi-vendor, multi-appliance infrastructure.
• Perform day-to-day technical operations, including firewall troubleshooting, scripting changes, and firmware updates.
• Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and service providers to resolve incidents and service requests.
• Develop technical SOPs and maintain detailed troubleshooting records through ticketing systems.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in a fast-paced enterprise NOC role (minimum 2nd or 3rd line experience).
• In-depth knowledge of LAN & WAN technologies: OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, and Layer 2 architectures.
• Experience with firewalls (ACLs, security posture) and load balancing (F5 LB, iRules).
• Proficiency in VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL) and understanding of Wireless technologies.
• Experience with ISO and ITIL standards and working with Cloud technologies.
• Location: Must be based in Belfast and able to work a hybrid schedule (2 days/week in office)

• Enterprise R&S certifications (Cisco, Juniper).
• Enterprise Firewall certifications (Palo Alto, Fortinet).
• Enterprise Wireless certifications (Aruba, Meraki).
• Cloud Certification in GCP (preferable), AWS, or Azure.
• Experience with Solarwinds or similar toolset management.
• WCA (Wireshark Certified) or experience with hardware-based packet capture systems.
• Knowledge of Multicast: PIM-SM, MSDP, AnyCastRP.
