Controls Engineer

TL;DR

Controls Engineer (Manufacturing): Analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical problems in plant equipment with an accent on controls programming, electrical circuits, and automation systems. Focus on designing PLC programs, HMI interfaces, implementing continuous improvement projects, and supervising installations for reliable manufacturing operations.

Location: Wentzville, Missouri (onsite, 2nd/3rd shift with overtime and possible rotation)

What you will do

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical problems in manufacturing equipment
• Complete engineering projects for electrical controls and programming
• Design and modify electrical control circuits and PLC/HMI programs
• Supervise project installations by contractors and plant electricians
• Develop and plan Continuous Improvement Projects
• Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose equipment malfunctions
• Provide technical support to plant electricians and collaborate across teams

Requirements

• Ability to work 2nd/3rd shift and overtime (possibility to rotate between shifts)
• Leadership experience
• Experience in manufacturing environment and Controls Engineering
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent 4 years work experience
• Proficiency in industrial networking: DH+, RIO, DeviceNet, TCP/IP, EthernetIP
• HMI software: Siemens WinCC, TIA Portal, Rockwell Factory Talk, Panelbuilder
• PLC hardware: Rockwell ControlLogix, PLC-5, PLC-500, GuardLogix
• Servo drive systems: Kinetix 6000; VFD: Armor Starts, PF70/PF755

Nice to have

• 3+ years Controls Engineering and manufacturing experience
• Body Shop experience
• Master’s degree in engineering
• Fanuc Robotics programming and troubleshooting
• ABB S3 & S4 Robotics programming and troubleshooting
• Vision Systems programming and troubleshooting
