Senior Structural Engineer (Process & Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Decatur, Alabama, United States; travel up to 5%.

What you will do

• Lead structural engineering projects for process and manufacturing industrial facilities.
• Design process equipment structures and foundations, platforms, stairs, walkways, piping supports, structural steel, and reinforced concrete systems.
• Prepare engineering calculations, conceptual layouts, cost studies, technical reports, scopes of work, specifications, and contractor bid packages.
• Coordinate structural designs with other engineering disciplines and direct designers in preparing installation drawings.
• Review designs for compliance with specifications, codes, regulations, quality standards, and contract requirements.
• Travel to industrial and construction sites for field data collection, structural inspections, risk and design reviews, and construction support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering, preferably in an industrial setting.
• Professional Engineer license in Alabama or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 90 days of hire.
• Experience engineering, designing, and managing structural engineering projects.
• Experience with Revit, RISA 3D, AutoCAD, RISA Foundation, or other structural modeling software.
• Working knowledge of ASCE, IBC, ACI, AISC, and AASHTO engineering codes.

Nice to have

• Master of Science or Master of Engineering degree in Structural Engineering.
• Industrial process and manufacturing project experience.
