MEP Design Project Manager

Location: Houston, TX, USA; on-site. Requires 20% travel, including monthly overnight travel.

What you will do

• Lead commercial MEP projects from design development and permitting through contractor procurement, construction oversight, and final closeout.
• Coordinate MEP systems with the broader project design and communicate client requirements to engineering and design teams.
• Build client relationships and maintain clear communication throughout project delivery.
• Organize weekly project meetings, coordinate site visits, preliminary investigations, site support, and bid walks.
• Respond to construction questions and collaborate with contractors to address field conditions.
• Monitor project hours and budgets, approve timesheets, and coordinate billing details with Accounting.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing engineering and design projects for commercial clients in the AEC industry.
• Thorough knowledge of MEP systems, equipment, installation practices, and applicable industry standards.
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of standards such as ASHRAE, NEC, and NFPA.
• Strong communication, time management, complex problem-solving, leadership, and initiative.
