Senior Engineer (Building Mechanical)

What you will do

• Lead the design of HVAC, industrial plumbing, sanitary sewer, and fire protection systems.
• Develop fire protection systems involving fire water storage, pumping systems, hazard classifications, and mitigation methods.
• Manage multiple projects from preliminary studies and proposals through installation, start-up, commissioning, and client turnover.
• Define project scopes with clients, conduct engineering studies, and prepare construction and engineering time estimates.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, present mechanical scopes, and oversee design staff.
• Conduct field surveys, shop inspections, vendor expediting, code reviews, and seal mechanical construction documents when appropriate.

Requirements

• In-depth HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection engineering experience in industrial and manufacturing environments.
• At least two of the following: 10+ years of responsible engineering experience, a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration.
• Thorough knowledge of applicable mechanical standards and building codes.
• Working knowledge of Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Revit.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentations to clients and technical groups.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer registration when not already counted among the required credentials.
• All three core credentials: 10+ years of experience, an engineering degree, and P.E. registration.
• Familiarity with FM Global facility insurance carrier requirements.
