Commissioning Project Manager

Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Serve as primary client contact and commissioning authority, leading strategy from pursuit through warranty.
• Develop commissioning scopes, schedules, plans, test procedures, and documentation including PFCs, FPTs, and ISTs.
• Oversee design reviews, site observations, system testing, issue resolution, and commissioning meetings.
• Maintain project budgets, schedules, invoicing, and alignment with contracts and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance, mentor junior staff, and contribute to standards and training.
• Lead closeout reports, systems manuals, and warranty support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and 10–12 years progressive experience in commissioning, MEP construction, or project management (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience leading complex commissioning projects independently.
• Advanced understanding of building systems, energy codes, and industry standards.
• Strong client communication, analytical, and financial acumen skills.
• Proficiency in construction documents and drawings.
• Travel: Up to 75%.
• Act as people manager for team members, handling performance and development.

Nice to have

• Project Management certification.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Building Commissioning certification.
• OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety and NFPA-70E.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
