Electrical Designer (AutoCAD/Revit)

Location: Hybrid role based in Roanoke, Virginia, USA; travel less than 10%

What you will do

• Develop electrical distribution and emergency generator system designs and documentation using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Design lighting, electrical, and fire alarm systems for apartment buildings, commercial spaces, hospitals, educational facilities, and other building projects.
• Perform electrical load calculations and select and size equipment.
• Edit electrical system specifications and review equipment submittals for compliance with contract documents.
• Survey existing buildings, identify electrical systems and components, and observe electrical construction work in progress.
• Collaborate with project team members and leaders in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience designing electrical systems for various types of facilities.
• Experience with commercial, residential, and institutional projects.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with current AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and engineering calculation or performance simulation software.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage shifting deadlines, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively.
