Senior AV Consultant

Senior AV Consultant: Lead Audio-Visual projects translating client requirements into non-technical programs and construction drawings with an accent on floor plans, AV flow schematics, elevations, and detailed specifications. Location: Hybrid in Chicago, IL; Boulder, CO; Addison, TX; or Bloomfield, CT (USA). Travel up to 15%.

Salary: $92,000 - $140,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Meet clients to review requirements and translate into non-technical program documents identifying system locations and use cases.
• Develop construction drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and budgets based on project needs.
• Survey existing buildings, review submittals, and observe construction progress for compliance.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring on-time delivery and ownership of all technical design aspects.
• Markup and draft deliverables using AutoCAD and Revit.

Requirements

• 6-15 years’ experience as Technology Design Engineer or Consultant.
• AutoCAD and Revit proficiency.
• Expertise in AV systems design: audio, video, control, AV networking, AV over IP, video displays, audio DSP, and modern AV control systems.
• Expert knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
• Strong client-facing skills, time management, and ability to handle multiple projects.
• College degree preferred; pursuing AVIXA certification (obtain within 6 months).
