TL;DR
Federal Account Executive (Defense Tech): Driving growth for defense and maritime security business by owning opportunities across DoD, Coast Guard, and DHS with an accent on end-to-end capture management and relationship building. Focus on translating sensing technology into operator-centric solutions and navigating government acquisition platforms.
Location: Must be based in the US. Remote is possible for the right candidate, but Washington, DC is strongly preferred; up to 40% travel to DC and customer sites is expected.

What you will do
- Own capture opportunities end-to-end, from initial identification through proposal submission.
- Nurture existing customer relationships to secure renewals and upsells of ongoing accounts.
- Manage the active pipeline, tracking opportunities via SAM.gov and other acquisition platforms.
- Generate pricing proposals and ROMs in collaboration with technical and executive leadership.
- Create customer-facing materials, including decks and white papers, to communicate sensing technology value.
- Build relationships with program offices and systems integrators across DoD, USCG, and DHS.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for export authorizations under ITAR/EAR regulations.
- Experience engaging senior stakeholders, program managers, or flag officers professionally.
- Ability to map technical sensing solutions to specific customer and operator needs.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for high-stakes proposals and presentations.
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced startup environment.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with government acquisition vehicles (OTAs, SBIRs, FAR/DFARS) or SAM.gov.
- Exposure to defense, maritime, or national security through professional or academic experience.
- Background at a consultancy (e.g., Deloitte, BCG) or defense contractor (e.g., Northrop, GDIT).
- Experience creating technical deliverables for government contexts.
