Calibration Specialist (Electrification Thermal)

TL;DR

Calibration Specialist (Electrification Thermal): Develop calibration data sets for current and future vehicle platforms including hybrids with an accent on thermal device controls/diagnostics and system diagnostics. Focus on in-vehicle and laboratory data collection, bulk data analysis, troubleshooting physical systems and software controls, and performance verification on bench and in-vehicle.

Location: Hybrid in Oshawa, Ontario – report to Oshawa Elevation Center three times per week minimum. Ability to travel to the United States on short notice required (~30 days/year, mainly Milford Proving Grounds, Michigan). Valid Ontario Driver’s (G) license required.

Salary: $81,300 to $122,000

What you will do

• Develop calibration data sets for electrification thermal device controls/diagnostics and system diagnostics on vehicle platforms including hybrids.
• Collect in-vehicle and laboratory data, perform bulk analysis, and verify performance on bench and in-vehicle.
• Troubleshoot electrical/thermal systems, develop test plans, and resolve issues using engineering skills.
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects/priorities, and balance planned/unplanned work.
• Travel ~30 days/year to US/Canada sites for calibration development.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
• 2+ years in SW/Controls development, calibration, verification, or validation
• Experience with in-vehicle testing and troubleshooting electrical/thermal systems; ability to do minor automotive mechanical/wiring work
• Experience with data acquisition and analysis
• Independent worker with strong time management, adaptability to ambiguity/changes, and communication skills
• Ability to work with local/global teams and travel to US on short notice; valid Ontario G Driver’s license

• Master of Science in Engineering
• Experience developing control system calibrations
• Tools: INCA, Vehicle Spy, CRETA, MDA, MATLAB/Simulink, ETAS/INCA, Intrepid/Vehicle Spy
• Scripting in Visual Basic, C, C++, Python
• OBDII compliant diagnostics; bevHEAT Thermal System knowledge; safety critical controls
