What you will do

• Lead the operational health of multiple engineering teams, ensuring delivery predictability, quality metrics, and production reliability.
• Manage and coach Engineering Managers, evolving them from tactical operators into autonomous strategic leaders.
• Drive improvements to engineering practices, including CI/CD pipeline health, QA automation strategy, and development workflow efficiency.
• Participate in architecture reviews and contribute technical opinions on reliability, payment flows, and platform coherence.
• Partner with the VP of Engineering and CTO to translate technical strategy into executable plans at the team level.
• Contribute to organizational design and provide executive-level communication on delivery health and risks.

Requirements

• 8+ years in software engineering, with at least 4 years in engineering management leading multiple teams or managing managers.
• Strong technical depth to read code, assess architecture, and contribute to cross-team design discussions.
• Proven track record of improving operational health, delivery predictability, and process maturity.
• Experience in a B2B SaaS or platform environment where reliability and compliance are critical.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to align engineering decisions with business priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience in payments, fintech, or e-commerce platforms.
• Background operating in PE-backed or exit-oriented environments.
• Experience navigating European engineering organizations and works council structures.
• Familiarity with evolving legacy monoliths into modern distributed architectures.
