Java Tech Lead (Fintech): Building a new fintech platform from scratch for a banking institution with an accent on backend architecture in microservices and event-driven systems. Focus on leading cross-functional squad, hands-on development, architectural decision-making, and mentoring.

Location: hybrid from Gdynia / Gdańsk / Warszawa / Rzeszów / Kraków (3 days per week from the office)

Salary: 1300 - 1600 PLN/MD on B2B

What you will do

• Lead a cross-functional team (developers, QA, Business Analyst) through the full delivery lifecycle
• Own the squad’s technical direction, primarily backend, with frontend awareness
• Design and evolve system architecture in microservices and event-driven environments
• Ensure high code quality via reviews, standards, and best practices
• Collaborate with Delivery Manager and Business Analyst to translate business needs into solutions
• Align with other Tech Leads for architectural consistency and mitigate technical risks
• Contribute hands-on to development and communicate decisions in English

Requirements

• Minimum 7+ years of commercial software development experience
• Proven Tech Lead experience
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring ecosystem (Boot, MVC, Cloud)
• Understanding of frontend architectures with exposure to React and/or Flutter
• Very good knowledge of fullstack application architecture
• Experience with event-driven architectures, PostgreSQL or similar, microservices, and distributed systems
• Strong mentoring and technical leadership skills
• Fluent English (spoken and written)

Nice to have

• Hands-on or architectural experience with React and/or Flutter
• Experience with Kafka or similar
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Background in fintech or banking
• Experience building greenfield systems
