Electrical Design Engineer

TL;DR

Electrical Design Engineer (Switchgear): Develop and assemble electrical drawing packages including schematics, single line diagrams, and bill of materials for power distribution equipment with an accent on compliance with NEC and UL standards. Focus on designing control wiring for automatic transfer controllers, breaker interlocking, PLC equipment, and power quality monitoring systems.

Location: Onsite in Anderson, SC, United States. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorship provided for visas such as H-1B, etc.

What you will do

• Develop electrical drawing packages, schematics, single line diagrams, and communications network drawings compliant with customer specs and budgets.
• Prepare bills of materials and control wiring for transfer controllers, breakers, PLCs, and monitoring systems.
• Collaborate with mechanical, automation teams, and project managers to resolve issues and meet timelines.
• Create test scripts to validate control schemes and assist in training junior team members.
• Contribute to new design practices and ensure compliance with NEC and UL standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree + 3+ years or Associate’s Degree + 4 years in related role.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude for electrical control design.
• Experience managing multiple projects, maintaining drawing revisions, and working in teams.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and adaptability in fast-paced environment.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Nice to have

• 3+ years designing electrical/control wiring packages.
• Knowledge of low voltage switchgear, manufacturing processes, AutoCAD, SEE Electrical.
• Understanding of UL standards (UL 1558, 891, 489, 1066).
