TL;DR

Associate Electrical Engineer - Substation: Support variety of substation projects up to 765kV in engineering detailed design and EPC with an accent on protection and control, physical design deliverables. Focus on developing protective relays, one-line diagrams, schematics, yard layouts, grounding, equipment specifications, and BOMs.

Salary: $91,047 - $152,053

What you will do

• Perform substation designs including physical design, protection and control with emphasis on continuous improvement.
• Develop protection and control deliverables: protective relays, panel arrangements, one-line/three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring.
• Develop physical design deliverables: yard layouts, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, auxiliary power systems.
• Prepare equipment specifications, BOMs, correspond with clients/vendors/subcontractors.
• Adhere to design budgets/schedules, perform QA/QC, support business development.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for reviews, coordination, field verification; guide entry-level professionals/interns.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from accredited program.
• Minimum 1 year related work experience; all applicants complete pre-employment checks (background, drug screen, MVR).
• Learn departmental guides, standards, codes, B&V policies; apply knowledge independently.
• Prepare complex engineering deliverables, calculations, research equipment/materials.
• Interact with clients, project leadership, other disciplines; support business pursuits.

Nice to have

• High voltage substation design experience – Physical and/or Protection & Controls.
• Engineering-in-Training (EIT) Certification.
• Proficient with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
