Analytical Chemist - Inorganic

What you will do

• Analyze material and contaminant samples in the inorganic analysis section.
• Operate ICP-MS and ICP-AES instrumentation.
• Use additional methods and equipment including XRF, spark OES, LECO combustion analysis, and microwave-assisted sample digestion.
• Prepare samples, chemical reagents, and solutions for analysis.
• Interpret data, identify patterns and trends, and prepare reports.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and technicians while meeting analysis deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field.
• 2–10 years of experience in materials testing or an analytical laboratory.
• Practical and theoretical knowledge of ICP-MS and/or ICP-AES.
• Working knowledge of materials analysis and specifications for metallic material grades.
• Strong problem-solving, data interpretation, collaboration, and reporting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English skills required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is also required.
