Analytical Chemist II (HPLC)

What you will do

• Perform routine and moderately complex chemical analyses, including HPLC, assay, potency, impurity, wet chemistry, and instrumental testing.
• Lead sample tracking, test execution, result reporting, and high-volume laboratory workflows.
• Identify and resolve unexpected results, analytical method issues, and equipment problems.
• Maintain and calibrate instruments, conduct advanced troubleshooting, and support method optimization and validation.
• Review and revise laboratory SOPs, support audits and safety inspections, and communicate findings to laboratory and quality leadership.
• Train and mentor Analytical Chemist I and entry-level staff while contributing to cross-functional laboratory projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in a regulated analytical laboratory with cGMP, cGLP, ISO 17025, USP, or A2LA requirements.
• Advanced proficiency with HPLC, UV-Vis, and other analytical instrumentation.
• Experience with sample preparative chemistry, wet chemistry analysis, sampling methods, quality control systems, and laboratory data review.
• Ability to troubleshoot analytical methods and instrumentation independently and maintain accurate regulatory documentation.
• Strong organizational, communication, collaboration, mentoring, and data-integrity skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and laboratory data management systems.

Nice to have

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
• Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
