Infrared Instructor/Field Service Technician (55592)

Location: Remote position supporting The Snell Group in Orono, Maine; travel to customer sites, ATS locations, conferences, and meetings up to 50% of the time. Only U.S. Persons may be considered due to ITAR export-control requirements.

What you will do

• Teach infrared thermography certification classes and administer written and practical examinations.
• Act as an outside agency for clients by managing training, testing, experience verification, audits, and personnel certification records.
• Perform examinations of composites and aerospace structures using infrared and other active and passive NDT techniques.
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training, serving as a subject-matter expert on infrared methods, cameras, specifications, and adjustments.
• Coordinate work scope and priorities with managers and clients, prepare inspection instructions, and report results.
• Conduct related research and development and deliver technical briefings.

Requirements

• IR/T Method Level III certification, or the ability to obtain it in a timely manner; IRT Level 3 certification under National Aerospace Standard 410 is especially valued.
• Documentation of education, training, and experience in applicable NDT methods.
• Working knowledge of industrial environments and general and aerospace manufacturing processes.
• At least five years of experience as an IR/T Level III professional is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with departments and customers and work independently.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person for ITAR-controlled information.
