What you will do

• Assess and document life and disability risks from customer applications, determining underwriting terms within your autonomy level
• Make decisions across Life, Critical Illness, and Income Protection products, balancing risk and commercial factors
• Participate in or lead process improvements to enhance underwriting quality, efficiency, and systems
• Request additional medical or financial information proportionately without impacting customer journey
• Identify and escalate potential complaints, capturing root causes for continuous improvement
• Maintain accurate records, stay compliant with regulations, and communicate effectively with stakeholders

Requirements

• Proven experience underwriting UK protection products
• UK medical underwriting experience
• Strong understanding of mortality, morbidity, and financial risk factors
• Extensive knowledge of Life, Critical Illness, and Income Protection products
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of relevant UK legislation and regulatory requirements
• Experience contributing to or leading underwriting improvement initiatives
