Senior Life Medical Underwriter

What you will do

• Assess and document life and disability risks from customer applications, determining appropriate underwriting terms.
• Make underwriting decisions across Life Insurance, Critical Illness Cover, and Income Protection.
• Request additional medical or financial information while protecting the customer journey.
• Identify and escalate potential complaints, capturing root causes for continuous improvement and compliance.
• Maintain accurate underwriting records and communicate with customers, third parties, and internal stakeholders.
• Participate in or lead process improvement and change initiatives.

Requirements

• Proven experience underwriting UK protection products.
• UK medical underwriting experience is essential.
• Strong understanding of mortality, morbidity, and financial underwriting risk factors.
• Extensive knowledge of Life, Critical Illness, and Income Protection products.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of relevant UK legislation and regulatory requirements.
