Senior Java Software Engineer (Backend): Implement new features and maintain world-leading search and booking technology integrating with over 200 travel partners and 500,000+ hotels/airlines with an accent on high-performance APIs and optimization for global corporate clients. Focus on building third-party integrations, owning full designs from concept to deployment, and ensuring modular architecture through code reviews.

Location: Hybrid in Berlin office, at least 3 days per week

What you will do

• Optimize search and booking logic for high-demand global corporate clients
• Build and maintain high-performance integrations with third-party APIs from airlines, hotels, and rental car providers
• Take full ownership of designs from initial concept to deployment, maintaining code quality and performance
• Participate in code reviews and architectural decisions to keep the K4B project modular and reusable

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
• 4+ years of experience in Java
• Hands-on experience with Spring ecosystem (Spring/Spring Boot) and relational/NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis)
• Strong English communication skills
• Ability to design and implement engineering initiatives with minimal guidance

Nice to have

• Prior experience in travel domain, airline distribution standards (GDS like Amadeus/Sabre/Travelport, NDC), and booking integrations
• Experience with B2B systems or identity/HR integrations (SCIM, SAML/OAuth, SSO, Workday, Okta, Active Directory)
