Hardware Engineer (RF Design)

TL;DR

Hardware Engineer (RF Design): Development, test and verification of analog, digital and RF circuits for telematics and connectivity functional blocks in automotive IVI systems with an accent on wireless technologies and complex hardware architectures. Focus on RF design simulation and measurement, feasibility analysis of customer requirements, supplier evaluation, and defining technology roadmaps.

Location: Ulm or Karlsbad, Baden-Württemberg, Germany (#LI-Hybrid). Willingness to travel within Germany & international (10-25%).

What you will do

• Develop, test and verify analog, digital and RF circuits for telematics/connectivity blocks considering new technologies, quality, cost and series production suitability.
• Act as expert in wireless technologies and RF design, including introduction and training in relevant areas.
• Analyze customer requirements, OEM specs for RFI/RFQ/CRs, provide BOM estimates, effort calculations and feasibility studies.
• Assist in conception, technical specifications, documentation and presentations for telematics/connectivity products.
• Prepare requirements for purchased components/modules, evaluate and select suppliers, serve as technical interface to suppliers and customers.
• Define RF requirements for wireless tech (BT, WiFi, V2X, mobile networks), perform simulations and measurements; collaborate globally with design, quality, manufacturing, procurement and software teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in HW development, verification and industrialization of in-vehicle infotainment, telematics/connectivity systems or similar automotive ECUs.
• Knowledge and experience in RF design, preferably wireless technologies (mobile/network, V2X, WiFi, BT) and telematics.
• Knowledge of schematic/layout tools and simulation (e.g. Mentor Graphics, SPICE) plus Microsoft applications.
• Structured, target-oriented work style in international teams; experience in requirements management (e.g. DOORS, DNG, ALM) beneficial.
• Good knowledge in spoken and written English.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of spoken and written German.
• Experience in ASIL / ISO 26262 compliant hardware designs.
