Automation Engineer (SCADA/PLC)

hirify.global develops semiconductor technology and operates a production fab with automated facility monitoring and control infrastructure.

What you will do

• Take technical ownership of the Facilities Monitoring and Control System from integrator handover through pilot-line and full-production expansion.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain Siemens WinCC OA across servers, operator stations, and displays.
• Maintain and diagnose Siemens S7-1500 PLCs and remote I/O, including adapting control logic within the existing standardized structure.
• Plan and execute end-to-end loop checks, instrument calibration, and analog and digital signal troubleshooting.
• Investigate alarms, communication faults, and unexpected equipment behavior during live operation.
• Extend datapoints, screens, trends, and reports while maintaining documentation, change control, and supplier accountability.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with industrial SCADA and PLC systems in a production environment.
• Completed automation electronics apprenticeship with state-certified technician training, or a degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid Siemens S7 experience with TIA Portal or Step 7, including online diagnostics, logic modification, and fault finding on running plants.
• Strong SCADA engineering experience, ideally with Siemens WinCC OA; experience with WinCC, PCS 7, Ignition, Aveva, or Zenon is also relevant.
• Practical knowledge of loop checks, instrument calibration, signal troubleshooting, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and I/O lists.
• Good command of English is required; German is a strong advantage.
