UX Content Designer/Writer

TL;DR

UX Content Designer/Writer (Connected Audio): Define and execute content strategy for digital products in connected audio ecosystem with an accent on cohesive narratives, voice/tone frameworks, and localization across mobile apps and hardware interfaces. Location: Owings Mills, Maryland or Carlsbad, California, USA. Willingness to work in the Carlsbad, CA office (hybrid option available; flexibility to come into the office on short notice when needed is appreciated). Due to the nature of global infrastructure, flexibility in working hours is required. Willingness to travel 10% domestically and internationally.

Salary: $78,750 - $115,500

What you will do

• Drive end-to-end content strategy and localization for digital products and platforms.
• Define cohesive product narratives, voice/tone frameworks, and terminology standards across brands and languages.
• Write and edit in-product copy including microcopy, onboarding, error states, and navigational labels.
• Audit and refine existing content to improve clarity and user comprehension.
• Develop scalable content standards, glossaries, and reusable components in design systems.
• Collaborate with UX designers, engineers, researchers, product managers, and legal to simplify technical concepts.
• Participate in user research and usability testing to validate and iterate content.

Requirements

• 5+ years in UX Content Strategy, Content Design, UX Writing, or Technical Writing in digital products.
• Strong portfolio simplifying complex topics into concise in-product content.
• Experience defining content strategy and information architecture for workflows and ecosystems.
• Expert proficiency in Figma and modern design systems.
• Experience with CMS, translation tools (e.g., Lokalise), and scalable content models.
• Strong collaboration skills and understanding of accessibility and plain-language principles.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AI writing tools and translation platforms.
• Experience with mobile apps connected to networked hardware.
• Knowledge of global localization and terminology management.
• Understanding of regulatory/compliance content environments.
• Basic knowledge of iOS/Android platform constraints.
