TL;DR

Counsel, Commercial (Commercial Legal): Partner with enterprise sales team in APJ region to manage full life-cycle negotiation of complex enterprise sales deals with an accent on reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements including SaaS and technology transactions. Focus on providing pragmatic legal advice, balancing risk and business needs, and ensuring compliance with local laws.

Location: Remote and based in Sydney, Australia. Occasional travel for meetings.

What you will do

• Review, negotiate, draft, and manage legal agreements including Master Services Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, and NDAs.
• Advise internal clients on contract interpretation, negotiation, and compliance with policies, laws, and company values.
• Understand customer and internal client perspectives to solve problems collaboratively.
• Triage workflow, prioritize issues, and deliver efficient results.

Requirements

• Admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW and strong academic credentials (LLB or JD).
• 5+ years commercial transactions experience, including 3+ years negotiating complex technology/SaaS deals.
• Experience supporting large sales organizations with high-volume commercial contracts.
• Ability to provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice balancing risk and reward.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers.
• Strong triage and workflow management skills.
