TL;DR

Area Sales Manager (Construction): Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including major contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers in the North/Scotland region with an accent on securing product sales and specifications for masonry products. Focus on account management, presenting design proposals, defending brand specifications, and increasing business opportunities through various routes to market.

Location: Remote (UK, Midlands/North/Scotland region; requires full UK driving license with maximum 3 points and willingness for business travel including overnight stays)

What you will do

  • Manage accounts of major contractors, specialist subcontractors, and distributors within the territory, building strong relationships.
  • Secure product sales aligned with area targets by presenting design proposals and benefits professionally.
  • Defend brand by gaining and maintaining specifications of Ancon products.
  • Advise on suitability, selection, performance, and applications of Ancon products.
  • Increase business opportunities through various routes to market and attend industry events.

Requirements

  • Background in related construction industry, external sales experience, or relevant technical qualification (HNC Construction, BSc Eng) for graduates transitioning to external roles.
  • Full UK driving license with maximum 3 points.
  • Willingness for business travel and overnight stays (in-house training in Sheffield for first 6 months).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; good organization, team player, IT literate, self-motivated.

Nice to have

  • Experience selling in related construction environment.
  • Ability to read construction drawings.
  • Understanding of basic structural design principles or technical background.
