What you will do
- Lead and line manage a squad of engineers to deliver the Product & Technology roadmap in alignment with the SDLC.
- Drive the design, implementation, and operation of secure, scalable, and highly available cloud-based services.
- Take ownership of personal development and performance for team members, embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with architects and product management to balance feature delivery with the management of technical debt.
- Promote knowledge sharing and standard methodologies both internally and across the wider Engineering organization.
Requirements
- Proven experience providing clear direction, coaching, mentoring, and development support to engineering teams.
- Strong technical leadership and critical thinking skills with the ability to apply business context to technical solutions.
- Experience building and managing high-quality systems within cloud environments.
- Proficiency in operating within Agile frameworks (SCRUM and Kanban) and automating CI/CD pipelines.
- Must be based in or able to commute to Liverpool, UK for hybrid work.
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS, Java, Python, or React.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, serverless computing, and DevSecFinOps.
- Experience with automated testing, observability, and robust deployment approaches.
