What you will do

• Lead and line manage a squad of engineers to deliver the Product & Technology roadmap in alignment with the SDLC.
• Drive the design, implementation, and operation of secure, scalable, and highly available cloud-based services.
• Take ownership of personal development and performance for team members, embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with architects and product management to balance feature delivery with the management of technical debt.
• Promote knowledge sharing and standard methodologies both internally and across the wider Engineering organization.

Requirements

• Proven experience providing clear direction, coaching, mentoring, and development support to engineering teams.
• Strong technical leadership and critical thinking skills with the ability to apply business context to technical solutions.
• Experience building and managing high-quality systems within cloud environments.
• Proficiency in operating within Agile frameworks (SCRUM and Kanban) and automating CI/CD pipelines.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Liverpool, UK for hybrid work.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Java, Python, or React.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, serverless computing, and DevSecFinOps.
• Experience with automated testing, observability, and robust deployment approaches.
