Platform Engineering Manager (Robotics/IoT): Lead and develop a growing team of platform engineers responsible for internal tooling, infrastructure, data pipelines powering global fleet of autonomous robots with an accent on system architecture, observability, and multi-stack management. Focus on coaching engineers across career stages, reviewing architectural decisions, and aligning technical work with business priorities in fast-paced environments.
Location: Wallingford, Oxfordshire (Hybrid) - circa one day per week onsite, commutable from London.

What you will do
- Lead and develop a team of 5–15 platform engineers on internal tooling, infrastructure, data pipelines, and special projects.
- Review and challenge system architecture decisions, focusing on observability, monitoring, and alerting at scale.
- Coach engineers at various career stages and manage teams across multiple technology stacks including Go, Python, TypeScript, React, Kubernetes, AWS.
- Communicate technical work in business terms, manage stakeholders, and navigate competing priorities.
- Operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with pragmatic decision-making and cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
- Proven experience as Engineering Manager, Tech Lead Manager or similar in high-growth tech company with software/DevOps teams.
- Strong background in platform engineering, infrastructure, embedded systems or complex technical domains.
- Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus) and robotics/IoT/hardware-adjacent software desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple stacks: Go, Python, TypeScript, React, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, PostgreSQL, AWS, CI/CD.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and coaching skills.
