Systems Engineer, VX (Automotive)

TL;DR

Systems Engineer, VX (Automotive Visual Experiences): Own technical engagement activities to support JOEM growth for AR-HUD, QVUE P-HUD, and advanced display systems with an accent on hardware, software, optics, and vehicle integration. Focus on customer demonstrations, performance validation, troubleshooting, and roadmap decisions.

Location: Ariake - Tokyo, Japan (office required, up to 25% travel domestically and internationally)

What you will do

• Demonstrate technical expertise in automotive hardware, mechanical, software, and optical engineering for Visual Experiences systems
• Engage with JOEM customers to support engineering and product planning for AR-HUD, QVUE P-HUD, and display solutions
• Present demonstration systems and technology roadmaps at customer events and trade fairs
• Collaborate with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers for integration of AR-HUD, P-HUD, neoQLED, OLED, and microLED displays
• Perform optical performance validation, on-site testing, and environmental measurements using luminance meters and photometers
• Support product demos, troubleshooting, requirements collection, training sessions, and market feedback evaluation

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in engineering, IT, or related field; MBA preferred
• 10–15 years of experience in engineering and product management
• Strong analytical, communication skills, and ability to explain complex topics
• Technical understanding of AR-HUD, QVUE P-HUD, automotive displays (neoQLED, OLED, microLED), optics, software, and vehicle E/E architecture
• Excellent written and verbal English skills
• Willingness to travel up to 25% and work in office in Japan
