Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer

TL;DR

Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer (Sustainability): Support internal and external databases to build cost and CO2e assessment models that establish design for sustainability with an accent on reviewing sustainable solutions feasibility and leading engineering qualification for hirify.global PWS products at ME component level. Focus on building close technical relationships with suppliers to identify best CO2 saving solutions including emerging technologies, second sourcing mechanical parts, and ensuring project schedule, cost, and performance.

What you will do

• Take ownership and collaborate with worldwide functions to implement sustainability materials in PWS products.
• Debug new sustainability material issues like component dimensions, assembly, and EVT failures.
• Complete second source qualification of mechanical parts for sustainability.
• Work with teams to qualify new sustainability materials.
• Analyze, document, and test mechanical parts and assemblies using appropriate tools.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in mechanical design/development of high-volume consumer electronic products.
• Good knowledge of plastic, moldflow analysis, injection tooling, injection molding, assembly process, and defect analysis.
• Skillful 3D modeling and problem-solving skills.
• Familiar with quality tools: DOE, FMEA, PSS, Tolerance Analysis.
• Good understanding of risk management and advanced knowledge of DFMEA, DFMA, PSS, Tolerance Analysis.
• Good command of English writing and speaking for presentations.
• Bachelor's degree or above in mechanical-related field.

Nice to have

• Fluent English speaking.
• Rich experience in moldflow simulation, injection molding/tooling, stamping tooling.
• Experience in foreign-funded company.
• Outstanding 3D modeling.
