TL;DR

HR Generalist (Consulting): Delivering comprehensive HR support across the employee lifecycle for the North American team with an accent on operational excellence and employee experience. Focus on ensuring multi-jurisdictional compliance, managing employee relations, and administering benefits and payroll across the U.S. and Canada.

Location: Hybrid. Must be based in Toronto, Vancouver, New York, Boston, Washington, or Los Angeles.

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 USD (or Canadian equivalent)

What you will do

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and employment changes across the US and Canada.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee relations, handling investigations and resolving workplace concerns.
  • Ensure strict compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local employment laws in North America.
  • Administer benefits enrollments and partner with payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities and support performance management cycles.
  • Identify and implement HR process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of HR experience, ideally within a professional services or consulting environment.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. and/or Canadian employment practices.
  • Experience supporting multi-location or remote teams.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
