What you will do

• Manage, mentor, and coach a team of 9 remote engineers, with levels up to Staff Engineer.
• Partner with the Product Manager to plan and deliver the team's quarterly and annual roadmaps.
• Own the quality of the technical estate, managing technical debt and addressing security vulnerabilities.
• Steer the technical design of features to ensure they meet the scale of a global service.
• Collaborate with other engineering managers to drive cross-team projects and leadership initiatives.

Requirements

• Experience bridging business needs with technical execution for successful outcomes.
• Proven track record in people management, elevating performance, and mentoring engineers.
• Strong architectural knowledge of complex distributed systems, specifically regarding scalability and performance.
• Experience managing projects in close collaboration with external teams.
• Ability to track and steer projects to timely delivery.
• Must be based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid).

Nice to have

• Knowledge of authentication protocols such as OAuth2, OIDC, and SAML.
• Understanding of event-driven architectures, particularly Apache Kafka.
