Software Engineering Manager (EdTech)

Software Engineering Manager (Node.js/TypeScript/React): Lead high-performing engineering teams in building and scaling educational technology products with an accent on team leadership, delivery execution, and operational excellence. Salary: CAD$180,000 - $220,000 DOE + Annual Bonus + Benefits

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop engineers to foster performance, engagement, and career growth
• Own delivery outcomes, ensuring on-time, high-quality project execution
• Partner with Product to define priorities, scope work, and align on business goals
• Collaborate with Principal Engineer on technical direction, architecture, and problem-solving
• Establish engineering processes, rituals, metrics, and drive continuous improvement
• Manage risks, dependencies, hiring, onboarding, and stakeholder communication

Requirements

• Legally eligible to work in Canada and/or the U.S.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 12 years software engineering experience, 3+ years in people management
• Proven leadership in delivering complex projects in remote environment
• Strong foundation in Node.js, TypeScript, React, modern web architectures
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Linux, CI/CD, DevOps practices

Nice to have

• Experience with Principal/Staff Engineers in complementary leadership model
