Location: Hybrid - San Francisco, California (expectation to work from SF offices at least half-time). Not considering candidates residing in AK, DE, IA, MS, NE, SD, WV, WI.

Salary: Region 1 $198,050 - $233,000; Region 2 $180,200 - $212,000; Region 3 $169,150 - $199,000 (based on US location).

What you will do

• Lead multiple UX design teams, setting expectations, providing feedback, and fostering growth.
• Mentor designers through 1:1s, career development, and actionable guidance.
• Participate in brainstorms, critiques, and sessions to elevate design quality.
• Partner with design and product leaders on roadmaps, user advocacy, and priorities.
• Demonstrate expertise in UX research, interaction design, IA, and systems thinking.
• Own features end-to-end as a practitioner (60/40 or 70/30 manage vs hands-on).
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and shape team culture and practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years design experience, 4+ years as high-influence IC at staff/principal level.
• Portfolio showing exceptional UI craft and systems thinking at scale for world-class companies.
• Strong aesthetic viewpoint balanced with collaboration.
• Deep mobile design fluency: interactions, platforms, motion.
• Curatorial skills in imagery, motion, visual storytelling for health context.
• Excellent communication to explain design decisions and issues.
• Proactive cross-functional collaboration and entrepreneurial approach.
• Familiarity with AI/agentic tools in design.
