What you will do

• Lead end-to-end field investigations for complex drive-by-wire and base vehicle system behaviors from triage to resolution.
• Design and execute structured test plans using track testing, fault-injection, and HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing.
• Propose and validate short- and long-term technical mitigations, including software changes and hardware revisions.
• Translate field data and forensic findings into updated functional requirements and FMEAs to improve product performance.
• Coordinate with Hardware, Embedded Software, Controls, and Safety teams to implement multi-layered system fixes.
• Analyze technical evidence to determine operational status and restrictions for specific vehicle configurations.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in diagnosing complex system interactions on automated vehicles or robotic systems.
• Proficiency with handheld diagnostic equipment (multimeters, o-scopes) and industry-standard service tools.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive communication networks (J1939 CAN, LIN) and power distribution architectures.
• Understanding of fault-tolerant and fail-operational architectures and common cause/cascading faults.
• Ability to synthesize high-density log data into clear, executive-level summaries for operational decisions.
• Willingness to travel to operations locations (25-30% of total time).
