TL;DR

Compensation: $203K – $225K + Equity

What you will do

  • Support the evolution of the Safety Management System (SMS), aligning safety policy, promotion, and risk management.
  • Drive systematic hazard identification and risk assessments to ensure risks are controlled within defined thresholds.
  • Optimize emergency response processes through tabletop exercises and real-world event management.
  • Lead cross-functional incident investigations and root cause analyses (RCA) to implement effective corrective actions.
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and leading indicators to inform engineering and operational decisions.
  • Perform safety assurance activities, including auditing and verification of safety-critical systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering, safety, or a related discipline.
  • 12+ years of experience in engineering and/or safety management.
  • 5+ years of experience in the transportation or mobility sector.
  • 3+ years of experience in safety leadership/program ownership and 3+ years with autonomous vehicles.
  • Must be based in the USA.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and make sound decisions under pressure during emergencies.

  • Experience in high-growth, fast-paced startup environments.
  • Experience operating within regulated industries or engaging with regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to solve complex problems using a first-principles approach.
