What you will do

• Lead end-to-end accounting for AI infrastructure capex, including monthly close, construction-in-progress (CIP) tracking, and flux analysis.
• Apply technical expertise under ASC 360 regarding capitalization, useful lives, impairment, and asset retirement obligations.
• Partner with Real Estate, Legal, and Finance teams to analyze and understand accounting implications during contract negotiations.
• Design and scale financial systems, processes, and controls to support a rapidly growing fixed asset portfolio.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve upstream data pipelines for asset receipt and deployment.
• Mentor accounting professionals and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors on capex matters.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in technology or infrastructure-heavy companies.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• Deep technical knowledge of ASC 360 as applied to data center, compute, or infrastructure assets.
• Experience managing significant fixed asset portfolios in high-growth environments.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model from San Francisco or Seattle offices.
• Strong ability to translate technical accounting concepts into financial implications for non-finance stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience at hyperscalers, large compute consumers, or data center operators.
• SQL proficiency for querying and analyzing large infrastructure and accounting datasets.
• Background in Big 4 accounting or advisory services.
• Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure and associated cost structures.
• Experience applying AI tooling (e.g., Claude) to accounting processes and automation.
