What you will do

• Lead technical accounting for complex infrastructure and energy arrangements, managing classification, measurement, and judgments.
• Apply ASC 842, ASC 810 (VIE analysis), and ASC 815 to lease arrangements, joint ventures, and derivatives.
• Author and defend technical accounting memos for new arrangements to ensure they are auditor-ready.
• Partner with Real Estate, Legal, and Finance teams during contract negotiations to advise on accounting implications.
• Act as the primary finance partner for non-finance stakeholders and the key point of contact for external auditors.
• Mentor the Infrastructure Accounting team and drive process automation using AI tooling.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant time in a technical accounting role.
• CPA certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Deep technical knowledge of ASC 842, ASC 810, and ASC 815 applied to real-world arrangements.
• Proven experience accounting for energy contracts such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Renewable Energy Credits.
• Must be able to work from an office at least 25% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience in a Big 4 technical accounting practice (SEC reporting or technical consultation).
• Background at hyperscalers, utilities, or energy companies.
• SQL proficiency for querying large accounting datasets.
• Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure and associated cost structures.
• Experience utilizing AI tools (like Claude) for research and memo drafting.
