TL;DR

Head of Engineering, SAP/Oracle Platform & Transformation (HR and Finance): Provide senior technical leadership for SAP and Oracle platforms supporting HR and Finance domains with an accent on architecture, stability, and modernisation. Focus on leading engineering teams in configuration, extensions, integrations, SAP ECC to S/4 transformation, and platform reliability across on-premise and cloud environments.

London, England, United Kingdom. Requires onsite presence in London, Paddington 3 days a week.

What you will do

  • Lead engineering teams for Oracle HCM configuration, extensions, integrations, reporting, and standards for code quality and release management.
  • Own technical decisions on configuration vs. extension in Oracle, including Redwood adoption, BIP reporting, OIC, REST APIs, and data integration patterns.
  • Ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of SAP and Oracle platforms in on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Support SAP ECC to S/4 transformation and shape integration patterns between SAP, Oracle, and surrounding systems.
  • Collaborate with Product, functional teams, vendors for delivery, operational support, and engineering practice improvements.
  • Drive platform modernisation, automation, security compliance, monitoring, and incident management.

Requirements

  • 15+ years experience with enterprise platforms in large-scale environments, strong SAP expertise and Oracle HCM exposure.
  • Deep SAP knowledge: Basis, ABAP, Solution Manager, system configuration.
  • Oracle HCM: configuration, integrations, reporting, OIC, REST APIs, data flows.
  • Awareness of business domains like Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report.
  • Experience with SAP ECC to S/4 transformations, managing on-premise SAP teams and vendors.
  • Platform operations: performance, patching, upgrades; integration patterns; communication across stakeholders.

  • Hands-on SAP ECC to S/4 migrations.
  • Oracle Redwood UX and modernisation.
  • Cloud/hybrid environments, API/event-driven legacy modernisation.
  • Operational maturity in large-scale systems; retail background.
