What you will do
- Translate customer specifications into detailed functional, hardware, and software requirements.
- Develop technical documentation, including high-level designs, interface control documents (ICDs), and traceability matrices.
- Lead commissioning activities, including planning, scheduling, and on-site execution.
- Oversee testing phases (FAT, SAT, SIT) to ensure systems meet contractual and safety requirements.
- Integrate SCADA systems with other subsystems such as signaling, rolling stock, power, and civil works.
- Provide troubleshooting support during operational phases and develop training materials for customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation systems (rail, metro, tram, or freight).
- Proven experience with SCADA systems, including BACS, Power Supply SCADA, SIL2, TVCS, CFAMS, and EMP.
- Knowledge of communication protocols: Modbus TCP, IEC 61850, and OPC UA.
- Hands-on experience in design, testing, and commissioning (FAT, SAT, SIT).
- Location: Must be based in or be able to work in Toronto & Mississauga, Canada
Nice to have
- P.Eng. certification (or in progress).
- Experience in large-scale transportation infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with RAMS, safety analysis, and regulatory compliance.
