What you will do
- Serve as a member of the executive team, translating company strategy into legal priorities and managing company-wide risk.
- Lead and scale a distributed legal team, implementing AI-powered automated legal operations and playbooks.
- Develop legal strategies for AI products, navigating global regulations like the EU AI Act and US state legislation.
- Oversee commercial legalities, including enterprise agreements, strategic partnerships, and vendor contracts.
- Manage global data privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA) and cross-border AI data processing requirements.
- Lead corporate governance, M&A, and serve as corporate secretary to the Board.
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
- 15+ years of legal experience, with significant in-house experience at a high-growth tech company (SaaS, AI, or platform preferred).
- Previous experience as General Counsel, Deputy GC, or VP of Legal at a scaled tech company.
- Deep expertise in AI and product law, commercial transactions, data privacy, M&A, and corporate governance.
- Proven track record of leading legal teams in async-heavy, distributed environments.
- Demonstrated AI fluency (Adoptive to Transformative level) in reshaping legal operations.
