Process Engineer - Machining

TL;DR

Process Engineer - Machining (Manufacturing): Developing manufacturing and machining processes, equipment/tooling alternatives, and operation flows for engine components with an accent on efficiency, material flow, and personnel utilization. Focus on ensuring high-yield productivity, performing root cause analysis of production data, and implementing continuous improvements in tooling and gaging.

What you will do

• Maintain and define manufacturing processes for machining and sub-assembly.
• Support day-to-day production floor needs through collaboration with Production and Maintenance teams.
• Optimize operation sequencing, material flow, and ergonomic human factors.
• Provide technical direction and oversight to internal teams and external vendors to solve complex problems.
• Analyze production data for root cause analysis to improve throughput and productivity.
• Develop and test advanced process technology and improve equipment, tooling, and gaging.

Requirements

• Technical expertise in process engineering disciplines.
• Analytical mindset and strong critical thinking skills.
• Knowledge of statistical methods for process control and quality systems/gauging.
• Experience with PFMEAs and control plans.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and interpreting part/tooling prints.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and off-shift support.

Nice to have

• Experience with CNC machining centers and programming.
• Knowledge of crankshaft precision grinding, polishing, and cylinder head/block machining.
• Experience with leak testing processes and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with in-line gaging and precision cutting tools (PCD, carbide, CBN).
