Senior Fire Protection Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: Torrance, California, United States; onsite work supporting office and reactor facilities

Salary: $144,000–$176,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Design, analyze, calculate, and specify fire protection and life safety systems for facility infrastructure.
• Develop building and fire code compliance documents and fire life safety designs for office and reactor facilities.
• Perform hazardous material analysis, including chemical classification, quantity analysis, inventory management, and system design support.
• Support construction teams with field solutions and participate in commissioning reactor facility builds.
• Conduct fire and life safety code reviews, prepare technical reports and presentations, and review contractor shop drawing packages.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience designing and constructing fire protection systems.
• Working knowledge of Building and Fire Codes and NFPA Codes and Standards.
• Knowledge of OSHA compliance and proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer License (P.E.).
• NICET certification in relevant fire protection programs.
• FDS software modeling capabilities.
• Construction, facility management, or consulting engineering experience.
