What you will do

• Lead HVAC, mechanical utility, and piping system design for studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
• Direct mechanical discipline workflows, budgets, schedules, and engineering support staff across complex projects.
• Develop load calculations, utility assessments, energy models, design reports, code evaluations, P&IDs, specifications, equipment selections, and construction drawing packages.
• Support construction through RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch lists, field surveys, commissioning, startup, and progress reporting.
• Lead quality reviews, technical verification, master planning, system programming, training, mentoring, and technical interviews.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, manufacturers, vendors, construction trade partners, and other offices.

Requirements

• ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical focus.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience and professional engineer registration in good standing.
• Expert experience with engineering calculations and HVAC, mechanical utility, and piping system design and implementation.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, fire, and building codes and standards including ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISPE, FDA, ISO, NFPA, and OSHA.
• Advanced experience leading field surveys, documenting existing conditions, and preparing field reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; professional Revit experience is preferred.

• Life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, laboratory, food and beverage, or consumer products experience.
• Advanced knowledge of cGMPs and experience with advanced technology facilities.
• LEED, WELL, or another sustainable design accreditation, or experience with sustainable design.
• Experience coordinating cross-discipline project teams, construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers.
• Advanced mechanical systems troubleshooting experience.
