What you will do

• Design and implement test plans to evaluate fire safety performance of products, suppression systems, and construction materials.
• Utilize specialized instrumentation like calorimeters, smoke chambers, and gas analyzers to measure test parameters.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of laboratory facilities and equipment.
• Conduct bench-scale to full-scale fire tests following industry standards.
• Analyze test data and communicate findings through technical reports and presentations.
• Mentor junior lab engineers in practical testing skills and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a client-focused laboratory environment.
• Must be available to work full-time onsite in Baltimore, MD, USA.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Experience with li-ion battery abuse and fire testing at various scales is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment (hood calorimeters, test furnaces) and data collection hardware.
