TL;DR
Field Service Technician (Camera and Solar Infrastructure): Installing, aligning, and maintaining camera systems, solar panels, batteries, mounting poles, and mobile trailers in the field with an accent on hands-on hardware deployment and service operations. Focus on diagnosing field equipment, conducting site surveys, managing safety-compliant installations, and supporting infrastructure across dynamic regional routes.

Location: Dallas, TX and Fort Worth, TX; field-based work Monday through Friday with 1–2 weeks of travel per month, up to 50%, and occasional Saturday work.

Salary: $55,000–$65,000 per year, plus overtime and equity.

What you will do

  • Install and maintain camera systems, solar panels, batteries, mounting poles, and mobile trailers.
  • Conduct site surveys with public safety partners and property owners, verifying traffic-control plans and permit compliance.
  • Prepare sites by digging post holes, installing mounting hardware, and aligning LPR and PTZ cameras.
  • Diagnose and repair field hardware, software connections, low-voltage wiring, and minor underground disruptions.
  • Document installations, service records, inventory, site photos, and equipment shipments through mobile applications.
  • Operate service vehicles, tow small trailers, and use ladders, bucket trucks, and lifts at heights up to 30 feet.

Requirements

  • Practical experience in low-voltage wiring, electrical assembly, construction, or technical field service.
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs and work outdoors independently in changing weather conditions.
  • Ability to drive service vans and trucks and safely tow small equipment trailers.
  • Comfort using mobile applications and basic digital tools for service documentation and inventory tracking.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% and work in the field rather than in a desk-based or remote troubleshooting role.
