Business Operations Analyst (Starlink)

Location: Hawthorne, California, United States. The role requires extended hours and weekends as needed, plus travel to customer sites, SpaceX locations, and events.

Annual base salary: $85,000–$100,000 for Level I or $95,000–$120,000 for Level II.

What you will do

• Own global S&OP for specific Starlink hardware products, converting hardware into active, paying customers.
• Analyze active subscribers, network utilization, produce-to-activate latency, inventory turnover, customer acquisition cost, payback periods, and hardware unit economics.
• Develop S&OP models, decision-making tools, strategic insights, and hardware mix strategies.
• Coordinate global supply allocation and demand forecasting against geographically specific network capacity constraints with Network Engineering.
• Drive resource planning, hardware ramp and sunset plans, and post-certification go-to-market execution with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Identify, track, and execute operational improvement initiatives with SpaceX leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, data science, physics, or another quantitative field.
• At least 1 year of experience in engineering, manufacturing, product management, operations, FP&A, consulting, banking, or entrepreneurship.
• At least 1 year of experience using Excel or programming.
• Strong analytical modeling skills and the ability to work independently with large datasets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially with senior business leaders.
• Must satisfy U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required U.S. authorizations.

Nice to have

• Quantitative dual degree in engineering and economics or business, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Ability to interpret income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Evidence of exceptional performance, organizational influence, ownership, urgency, and automation-oriented execution.
