Business Operations Analyst (Starlink)

Location: Hawthorne, California, United States; travel to customer sites, other SpaceX locations, and events may be required.

Salary: $85,000–$100,000 per year for Level I; $95,000–$120,000 per year for Level II.

SpaceX develops rockets, spacecraft, and Starlink, a global broadband internet system based on a large satellite constellation.

What you will do

• Own global sales and operations planning for assigned Starlink hardware products.
• Analyze active subscribers, network utilization, produce-to-activate latency, inventory turnover, and hardware unit economics.
• Build S&OP models and decision-making tools that translate complex data into hardware mix and adoption strategies.
• Coordinate global supply allocation and demand forecasting with Network Engineering while accounting for regional network capacity.
• Plan hardware ramps and sunsets with Hardware and Manufacturing Engineering and accelerate post-certification go-to-market execution.
• Develop and execute operational improvement initiatives with SpaceX leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, data science, physics, or another quantitative field.
• At least 1 year of experience in engineering, manufacturing, product management, operations, FP&A, consulting, banking, or entrepreneurship.
• At least 1 year of experience using Excel or programming.
• Strong analytical modeling and communication skills, including the ability to work with senior business leaders.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python and the ability to independently handle large datasets are preferred.
• Must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Quantitative dual degree in engineering and economics or business, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience reading and interpreting income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Experience with Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Demonstrated ability to drive measurable impact in ambiguous environments.
