TL;DR

Manager, Revenue Accounting (Finance): Building and scaling the revenue accounting function with an accent on ASC 606 compliance and project-based revenue models. Focus on optimizing billing processes, improving collections, and ensuring GAAP compliance within a high-growth AI environment.

Location: Hybrid in Redwood City or San Francisco, CA, or Remote within the United States (Bay Area strongly preferred)

Salary: $132,000 – $208,000 USD

What you will do

  • Manage revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606, including contract review and SSP analysis.
  • Optimize project-based billing processes to ensure accurate invoicing aligned with contract milestones.
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk to provide accounting guidance on complex contracts.
  • Drive improvements in collections and cash flow for enterprise customers.
  • Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis.
  • Prepare technical accounting memos and coordinate with external auditors during reviews.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in revenue accounting with strong exposure to ASC 606.
  • Deep experience with project-based, services, or hybrid SaaS revenue models.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
  • Proven experience managing month-end close processes.
  • Ability to build processes from scratch in ambiguous, high-growth environments.
  • Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

  • CPA or equivalent certification.
  • Background in AI, SaaS, or technology companies.
  • Experience with revenue automation tools such as NetSuite, Tabs, or Maxio.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and CRM-to-finance integrations.
